FITTING ROOM

1. The Circumference of the Head:

Measure all around the head. Position tape measure so its edge follows the hair line around the head and nape of the neck.

(Example Measurement: 22 inches)

2. From Forehead to Nape of Neck:

With your head tilted down measure from hairline at center of forehead straight back over crown to center of hairline at nape of neck.  Then ADD a 1/2 inch to the measurement results. This is VERY IMPORTANT. If you do not add the ½ inch, your wig will be too small and will not fit properly in front of your hairline.

(Example Measurement: 14 inches)

3. From Ear to Ear Over Top of Head:

Measure from hairline directly above the ear across top of head to the hairline directly above the other ear.

(Example Measurement: 13 inches)

4. Ear to Ear Across Front Hairline:

At front of ear, measure from hairline at base of sideburn, up towards the top of the head and go a 1/2 inch behind the front hairline back down to the same point in front of other ear.  (Example Measurement: 12 inches)

5. Temple to Temple:

From temple to temple across the back of head. Place the tape measure at your temple to temple point on each side of your head as shown in the picture.

Keeping in mind that your cap is glued to the outside perimeter of your natural hairline on your skin in this area as well. Then ADD a 1/2 inch to the measurement results. This is VERY IMPORTANT. If you do not add the inch, your wig will be too small and will not be able to be glued in front of your hairline.

(Example Measurement: 14 inches)

6. Nape of Neck:

Measure the width of hairline across the nape of the neck.

(Example Measurement: 5 1/2 inches)

Before you begin measuring your head, your head must be prepared the same way you would have it right before applying the wig. Therefore, make sure your hair is either pinned up or braided down to ensure it is lying flat to avoid any bulges which may distort the measurements.

Use a standard, non-stretchable tape measure to make your measurements.  Most lace wigs are made in inches.

Density Chart

Density is defined as how thick or thin the hair on your lace wig will be. The standard and most popular choice is 120% which is Medium - Heavy  Density.   The average human head is considered to be between 100%-120%.

Here is a guide for illustration purposes,  it is best to have a consultation performed to determine what is best for you.  Typically, the hair around your hairline and nape areas is slightly less dense than the rest of your hair.  Each person is different, therefore a consultation is highly recommended.
